Start with what you already have
A deck is a set of flashcards. Type the cards in, or photograph a page of notes and let Knovli draft the cards for you to check. If somebody has already made a good deck for your subject, find it in Explore and copy it.
Your teacher may also share decks with your class, in which case they are waiting for you when you sign in.
Know it by the day you need it
Give a deck a date — the test, the end of the unit — and the mastery plan splits it into short daily lessons. Each lesson mixes new cards with ones from earlier days, and if you miss a day the plan spreads the rest out again.
There are eight ways to practise the same deck, from flipping cards to typing the answer from memory. A card counts as Proven once you have got it right in more than one kind of practice, which is a better sign that you know it than getting it right ten times the same way.
Playing counts
The games earn the same XP and keep the same streak as studying. Take on everybody at once in 1vWorld, send one person a 1v1 challenge, or join the game your teacher is hosting in Group Play. The Daily Quiz takes a few minutes and keeps a streak alive on a busy day.
In a class
Join with the class code your teacher gives you. Assignments show up with their due dates, and your progress goes back to your teacher so they can see what the class needs more time on.
On public leaderboards a student in a class appears under a player name, not their real one. How Knovli treats student data has the detail.
Common questions
Does Knovli cost anything for students?
No. You can build decks, study and play on the free plan, and a student in a teacher’s class does not pay.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Knovli runs in a phone’s browser and there are iOS and Android apps that use the same account and the same decks.
Do I need my teacher to use Knovli?
No. Anyone can make an account and study on their own. A class simply adds your teacher’s decks and assignments.
What if I miss a day of my plan?
The plan redistributes what is left across the remaining days. Nothing is lost.
